The Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) is seeking applications for a career in surveillance in the regional offices of the Service. Candidates must possess a high level of initiative, motivation and discretion, with the ability to work a flexible schedule. Under the direction of a team leader, the Surveillant is responsible for:
- Conducting discreet physical surveillance;
- Researching and analysing information pertaining to surveillance;
- Drafting reports, detailing the information gathered during activities;
- Carry out several tasks simultaneously during activities.
Minimum of 2 year college diploma.
A valid and permanent Canadian driver’s licence with a minimum of two (2) year’s experience driving motor vehicles.
Candidates should be in good physical health and be able to adapt quickly to a variety of settings and situations and manage a high level of stress.
Ability to learn, Teamwork, Stress Management, Judgement, Interpersonal Skills.
Who Can Apply
Canadian citizens eligible for a Top Secret security clearance.
Candidates must have no criminal record and must be able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance. This process involves a security interview, a polygraph, and a background investigation that includes credit and financial verifications.

$58,080 to $70,660 per year (under review).

Indeterminate offer upon successfully passing the Surveillant Entry Training. Functions require shift work. Furthermore, work hours can be unpredictable and can result in personal / family sacrifices.
