The Psychology Section of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) is seeking applications to the position of Research and Development (R&D) Psychologist. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with a small team of Psychologists in the planning and conduct of applied research, as well as the development, review and updating of assessment methods and instruments, in order to complement or facilitate clinical assessments. The successful candidate will be involved in the planning and execution of applied psychological research based on data generated by the Section or otherwise accessible to it, and in all stages of the development of new assessment instruments including item construction and validation.
- Masters or Doctorate in Psychology from a recognized university
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience following the completion of graduate studies in Psychology (post-Masters doctoral work may be considered as fulfilling part of the experience requirement).
- Experience related to the development of psychological assessment instruments.
- Sound knowledge of applied research methods.
- Sound knowledge of applied psychometric methods or test construction.
- Sound knowledge of descriptive and inferential statistics used in the social sciences.
- Familiarity with SPSS and Excel.
- Background in social psychology.
- Knowledge of and interest in terrorism and radicalization.
NOTE: A written exercise will be administered for the assessment of candidates.

Who Can Apply
Canadian citizens eligible for a Top Secret security clearance.
Candidates must have no criminal record and must be able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance. This process involves a security interview, a polygraph, and a background investigation that includes credit and financial verifications.
Bilingual imperative – CCC/CCC
$74,570 to $90,730 per year. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
