The applied psychology sector of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) is seeking applications to the position of Research and Development (R&D) Psychologist. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with a small team of applied Psychologists in the planning and conduct of relevant methods and instruments used by the team to complement or facilitate clinical assessments. The successful candidate will be involved in the planning and execution of small-group studies based on internally generated or otherwise accessible data, and will contribute to the development and validation of assessment instruments.
- Masters or Doctorate in applied Psychology from a recognized university
- Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience following the award of a graduate degree in Psychology
- *Sound knowledge of applied research methods
- *Sound knowledge of descriptive and inferential statistics used in the social sciences
- Knowledge of test construction applicable to the development of in-house assessment instruments
- Familiarity with and ability to use SPSS and Excel
*Sound knowledge is defined as requiring, in addition to a basic course or equivalent training on the topic, a second relevant course or additional knowledge gained from direct participation in more than one research project on a relevant topic.
- Background in social psychology.
- Knowledge of and documented interest in the study of terrorism and radicalization
NOTE: A written exercise will be administered for the assessment of candidates.

Who Can Apply
Canadian citizens eligible for a Top Secret security clearance.
Candidates must have no criminal record and must be able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance. This process involves a security interview, a polygraph, and a background investigation that includes credit and financial verifications.
Bilingual imperative – CCC/CCC
$74,570 to $90,730 (under review). Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
